LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH

LORDS OF THE NEW CHURCH

The Lords of the New Church occupy a special place in my heart. In their name came an intention that spoke to me when I first heard of them as a kid.  I also was drawn to them because they combined Punk & Goth in the streetwise package I dig so much. The Lords also have a cool origin story. See, Stiv Bators (Dead Boys) was going to be the new singer for Sham 69 who had recently sacked Jimmy Pursey. Stiv met with Brian James (ex the Damned) & started writing material together. For whatever reason Stiv didn't work out for Sham & he & James eventually rounded the lineup with Dave Tregunna of Sham 69 on bass & Nick Turner of the Barracudas on drums.

Here's the Lords of the New Church live at their peak (1984) at the Marquee club in London.

XO SEAN

We got some relevant buttons for sure. Also Stiv RIP.
