HALLOWEEN BOOK FLIP THROUGH
I realized the other day that there was no flip through of my Halloween Book! So Katie did one. Have a look!
Also, here's an excerpt...
More than a single day, the run up to Halloween has always been one of my favorite times of year. It is a gloriously ghoulish gala disrupting the bureaucratically morbid & depressive assembly-line return to school. Just as pigs are unceremoniously lined up for slaughter, schoolchildren are funneled into classrooms to slowly be processed into society’s sausages. Halloween is a goblin’s pumpkin bomb, rending the very fabric of reality apart & disrupting the pencil-necks & bean-counters in an orange explosion of bats, black cats, skulls, spiders, centipedes, scorpions, moons, stars & frogs! Trick or Treating comes from a long history of dressing up as ghosts, goblins, ghouls, witches & warlocks & joining the spooks that wander the earth as the summer comes to an end & the icy fingers of winter begin to creep across the land. The people became so enraptured with the spirit of Halloween that Trick or Treating turned into outright vandalism & acts of random violence & there was a deliberate strategy to promote more orderly Halloween parties & other activities to keep the possessed children off of the streets & out of trouble.
