Embroidered & Quilted Tarot Wall Hanging. By Katie Äaberg The Stitch Witch.
This embroidered & quilted tarot wall hanging depicts The Ace Of Cups in the Rider-Waite 1910 Tarot mode as illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith under the instruction of Mystic A.E. Waite. Katie picked the Ace Of Cups as she asked the Tarot what she should make next. Appropriately made following her 40th birthday, which the card represents. The Ace Of Cups means joy & inner peace from friends & family, the five streams pouring from the cup (which can also represent the holy grail) represent the five senses: sight, smell, hearing, taste & touch.
Katie made this one of a kind wall hanging from white cotton using a free-motion embroidery & quilting technique to execute a thread drawing on the quilted mat. She then finished the piece with a hand stitched binding to form this embroidered & quilted tarot wall hanging.
